The Montreal Canadiens will need to wait a little bit longer for one of their prospects to arrive.

Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL has announced that they have signed Canadiens prospect defenseman Bogdan Konyushkov to a contract extension that will keep him signed through the 2026-27 campaign.

Konyushkov, 22, has spent each of the last three seasons in the KHL with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. In 196 games with the KHL squad over that span, he has recorded 11 goals, 59 assists, and 70 points. This includes posting three goals and 17 points in 67 games with them in 2024-25.

Konyushkov was selected by the Canadiens with the 110th overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has shown promise in the KHL and could become a solid part of the Canadiens' future once he makes the jump to North America. However, with his new extension, he will be staying in the KHL until at least the end of the 2026-27 season.
