This is a nice step in the right direction for Demidov.
Montreal Canadiens star forward Ivan Demidov has not played for the Original Six club since their Oct. 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins due to a foot injury.
However, Demidov has now taken a nice step in the right direction with his recovery.
On Tuesday, Demidov was spotted skating on his own at the Bell Centre. There is no question that the star winger getting back on the ice is promising to see. Now, he will be looking to continue to head in the right direction.
While Demidov has been out for the majority of this season, the Canadiens are still in a great spot early on. They currently have a 9-3-2 record and are second in the Atlantic Division. However, when they get Demidov back, they should only be more difficult to face.
Demidov has appeared in two games this season with the Canadiens, where he has recorded a goal and an assist. This is after he had 19 goals, 43 assists, and 62 points in 82 games last season for the Canadiens.
It will now be interesting to see how Demidov continues to recover from here. Here's to hoping that the 20-year-old will be good to return soon.
