Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes has jumped ahead of Carey Price with an impressive stat.

The Montreal Canadiens picked up a big 3-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes was undoubtedly a major reason for it, as he stopped 34 out of 35 shots against the Hurricanes. With this, the 24-year-old rookie had a .971 save percentage in the contest, which is very impressive.

Now, Dobes has passed Canadiens legend Carey Price with a great stat in the process.

As shared by Sportsnet Stats, with Dobes getting his 25th win of the season, he has passed Carey Price (2007-08) for the sixth-most wins by a Canadiens rookie goalie in franchise history. Dobes' 25 wins also have him tied with Gerry McNeil (1950-51).

This stat shows just how solid Dobes has been for the Canadiens this season. While he has had some growing pains along the way, the 2020 fifth-round pick has undoubtedly had a nice year for the Habs and has become a key part of their roster in the process.

With his victory against the Hurricanes, Dobes now has a 25-8-4 record, a .900 save percentage, and a 2.78 goals-against average in 37 games this season for Montreal. He has also been red-hot as of late, as he has had a .923 save percentage or better in seven out of his last eight appearances.
