This is certainly encouraging news for the Canadiens.
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Noah Dobson has not played for the Habs since exiting their April 11 contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets after suffering an upper-body injury.
The Canadiens have been able to take a 2-1 series over the Tampa Bay Lightning in their first-round series, but they are certainly still hoping that he can return to their lineup soon.
Now, Dobson has taken a step in the right direction with his recovery.
According to RDS's Luc Gelinas, Dobson has resume skating two weeks after his suffering his injury.
Dobson getting back on the ice is undoubtedly good news to hear. With this, it is clear that the right-shot defenseman is trending in the right direction with his recovery. While he will still need to skate more before getting back into game action, it is still encouraging to see him returning to the ice.
Dobson was very good during his first season with the Canadiens in 2025-26. In 80 games this campaign with the Original Six club, he recorded 12 goals, 35 assists, 47 points, and a plus-5 rating. With this, he emerged as an incredibly important part of the Canadiens' blueline this campaign, so it will be significant once he can get back into game action.
