Could the Canadiens look to add this veteran winger to their lineup?

The Montreal Canadiens would be wise to add at least one more skilled winger to their roster this off-season. It is clear that their forward group could use a boost.

Because of this, in a recent article for Bleacher Report, Kristopher Knox predicted that the Canadiens will sign forward Vladimir Tarasenko in free agency.

"The 34-year-old is still a quality player who produced 23 goals and 47 points this past season, and he should draw interest from other contenders in need of middle-six forward help," Knox wrote. "Prediction: Tarasenko signs with the Montreal Canadiens."

The idea of the Canadiens bringing in Tarasenko is an interesting one. While he is no longer in his prime, he is still a solid skilled winger who would have the potential to provide the Habs with more secondary scoring. He is also a two-time All-Star and has won the Stanley Cup twice, so he would be a fascinating veteran for the Habs to bring to Montreal.

When looking at Montreal's current forward group, Tarasenko could slot nicely on their third line if signed. However, he also could move up the lineup when needed due to his scoring ability. He would also give them another clear option for their power play if brought in.

On a short-term deal, Tarasenko could be a strong fit on a Canadiens club that is entering its contender window. It will be interesting to see if Montreal makes a push for him from here.
