Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov was named Rookie of the Week in the KHL with two points in two games.

Ivan Demidov is having an outstanding rookie season with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL. After being named the top rookie in the league for September, he added a Rookie of the Week accolade to his resume.

Last week, the 18-year-old Montreal Canadiens prospect had a goal and assist for two points in two games.

The fifth-overall pick from the 2024 Draft ranks fourth in team scoring with ten points thanks to five goals and five assists in 17 games. He's also plus-9, which ranks third.

Right now, Demidov finds himself in a bit of controversy, but not at his own doing. Many fans following his career from North America feel he has been underutilized this season and wish he could get out of his contract to play elsewhere.

Until then, he can only make the best of the situation and pile up the points in his limited opportunities. Stay tuned for more as we continue to track his season.
