Bolduc was a restricted free agent for over two months, but he has now gotten his new contract with this latest news.
Bolduc signing his next contract comes just one day after the Canadiens signed Chris Kreider to a one-year contract for the 2026-27 season. With this, the Canadiens have been very busy.
With Bolduc signed, the Canadiens' remaining restricted free agent is defenseman Arber Xhekaj. Now that Bolduc is signed, it would not be too surprising if Xhekaj signs his next deal shortly, too.
This contract has the potential to age very well for the Canadiens. A $4.2 million salary for Bolduc is already reasonable, but it will only look better if he continues to grow his game. This is especially so with the salary cap going up as well.
Bolduc just played his first season with the Canadiens in 2025-26, where he posted 12 goals, 18 assists, 30 points, and 170 hits. Overall, he had a solid first season with the Habs, and it will now be interesting to see what kind of season he has after landing this nice new contract from here.
