Another big move for the Canadiens.
The Montreal Canadiens have made some significant moves lately, as they signed veteran forward Chris Kreider and re-signed Zachary Bolduc to a four-year contract extension.
Now, the Canadiens are staying busy, as they announced on Monday morning that they have signed head coach Martin St. Louis to a multi-year contract extension.
"Marty has done a terrific job leading our young team," Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes said about the team extending St. Louis. "He is a great communicator and teacher. We look forward to his continued efforts to mold this group into a championship-caliber team."
Seeing the Canadiens sign St. Louis to a multi-year contract extension is not surprising in the slightest. He has done an excellent job as their head coach and most notably led them to the Eastern Conference Final in last season's playoffs. He also led them to a 48-24-10 record and 106 points last season, which was their most wins and points since the 2016-17 season.
With all of this, it makes all the sense in the world that the Canadiens have signed St. Louis to a contract extension. He was entering the final season of his deal in Montreal, but he will thankfully now be staying put.
