The Montreal Canadiens made some franchise history with their win over the Hurricanes.
The Montreal Canadiens extended their winning streak to five games with their 3-1 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night. With it, the Canadiens now have a 42-21-10 record and are third in the Atlantic Division standings with 94 points.
This was a hard-fought win for the Canadiens, too. They allowed the game's first goal to Andrei Svechnikov during the first period. However, the Habs then bounced back, as they scored all three of their goals during the second period and shut the door from there.
With this comeback win, the Canadiens have also made franchise history.
According to Sportsnet Stats, the Canadiens have set a new franchise record with their 25th comeback victory of the 2025-26 season. They had two seasons with 24 comeback wins, which were during the 1975-76 and 1992-93 campaigns.
This new Canadiens record undoubtedly shows just how well the Canadiens are able to respond to adversity. They are a team that does not quit, and their ability to put together comeback wins is certainly a reason why they are in a very good place to make the playoffs this year.
The Canadiens will now be looking to finish off the 2025-26 season on a high note after setting this new franchise record.
