While Ivan Demidov and his significant other are hitting the beach in Dominican Republic, several Habs players are still in town.
There’s always plenty to do in Montreal, and there was one more activity on Saturday night. The Ultimate Fighting Championship took over the Bell Centre and, unsurprisingly, several of the Canadiens players decided to head to their usual stomping ground to catch the action.
Josh Anderson, Jake Evans, Kaiden Guhle, Alex Newhook, Jayden Struble, and Jakub Dobes were seen taking in the action together. Throughout the season, the players have often told the media that this was a special group, and on locker clear-out day, a few players were asked what made this group so special. When asked, Cole Caufield replied:
“It’s a group you never want to leave.”
That holds true in the offseason as well. Brendan Gallagher’s wife Emma Fortin also published a picture from the event, as did Laval Rocket goaltender Jacob Fowler. UFC 315 wasn’t a sold-out event, but it nevertheless struck a chord with the Canadiens’ players.
