The Canadiens have a trade target to consider from the Blues.
The Montreal Canadiens should be looking to improve its roster this off-season after taking a notable step in the right direction during the 2025-26 season. When looking at their current group, one area that they could look to improve is their top six.
While adding a second-line center would be huge for the Canadiens, it would also be good if they added another scoring winger to their top six. When looking at this off-season's trade candidates, the Habs have a fascinating potential option in St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou.
The Fourth Period recently reported that the Canadiens are one of the teams connected to Kyrou. With the Canadiens being in need of another scorer in their lineup, it would make sense if they made a push for him.
If the Canadiens acquired Kyrou from the Blues, he would give their top six a notable boost. He could work well on their second line but also move up to their first line if needed. Furthermore, due to his offensive skill, he would be an obvious option for the Canadiens' power play.
Kyrou had a down year for his standards in 2025-26 (18 goals and 46 points in 72 games), but his past success screams that he can bounce back. Just back in 2024-25 with the Blues, he had 36 goals and 70 points. He also scored at least 31 goals from 2022-23 to 2024-25 and has hit the 70-point mark three times in the last five seasons. With numbers like these, he would have the potential to be an outstanding pickup for the Canadiens.
