It is an exciting time for the Montreal Canadiens right now. The Atlantic Division club is a clear team on the rise due to their nice mix of impactful veterans and promising young players. With this, they are undoubtedly among the most intriguing teams to watch heading into the 2025-26 season.
When it comes to the Canadiens' youngsters, goaltender Jakub Dobes is easily one of the most interesting players to watch on their roster next season. He showed good promise this past season with the Habs and will now be looking to build off it in 2025-26.
In 16 appearances this past season with the Canadiens, Dobes recorded a 7-4-3 record, a .909 save percentage, a 2.74 goals-against average, and one shutout. When noting that this was Dobes' first season getting into NHL action, he certainly handled himself well. Yet, now that he has some experience at the NHL level, he should only continue to improve. This is especially the case when noting that Dobes is still only 24 years old.
If Dobes can take another step forward in his development next season, it would be massive for a Canadiens team looking to cement themselves as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. It is hard not to feel optimistic about his future with the club, and it will be fascinating to see what kind of campaign he has in 2025-26 from here.
