Another Montreal Canadiens prospect could join David Reinbacher on Team Austria's rosters at the Olympics Qualifiers at the end of the month.

The Austrian national team has announced a roster of 28 players who will attend the team's preparation for the Olympics qualifiers which will be held in Bratislava from Aug 29 to Sept 1.

Before heading to Slovakia however, the national side will have a final preparation game against Slovenia on Aug 24. Head Coach Roger Bader is glad he'll be able to rely on NHLer Marco Kasper and Canadiens prospect David Reinbacher as both have got World Championship experience. Unfortunately, Marco Rossi who lines up for the Minnesota Wild will be unable to attend the tourney.

Following the preparation week, three players will be cut from the roster and will miss out on representing their country in Bratislava. It appears to be a given that Reinbacher will be on the final roster, but fellow Habs prospect Vinzenz Rohrer (the Canadiens third-round pick at the 2022 draft - 75th overall) will need to have a good week to get the nod.

The 19-year-old right winger played two seasons in the OHL with the Ottawa 67's before heading over to Switzerland to join Zurich SC in the Swiss A league. In the regular season he played 49 games in which he posted 19 points and he added four points in 15 games in the playoffs.

Rohrer also competed for Austria at the latest World Championship, putting up two points on the board in seven games. He also represented the country in 13 other matches during the 2023-2024 season and picked up another two-points.

Rohrer might not have a big frame at five-foot-11 and 168 pounds but he's not afraid to go into traffic in front of the net or in the corners. He's a responsible two-way player who takes pride in competing on both sides of the puck. He has yet to get a contract offer from the Canadiens, but he's still worth keeping an eye on.
