
The Montreal Canadiens are currently without a bonafide NHL starting goaltender as they are in rebuild mode. The hope is that one of the prospects in the pipeline will develop into a true elite starter that will help them become a contender.
But it wasn't so long ago when goaltending was the strength of the team. Carey Price set most of the Montreal Canadiens goaltending records as he established himself as the best goaltender of his era.
Back in 2013, Ken Campbell focused on the "calm demeanor" of Price which helped him be so successful in the NHL's most-demanding market. It was also a characteristic that put Price at the forefront of the conversation for the Canadian Olympic team netminder.
Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien told The Hockey News, "He’s maturing, he’s a leader for us. He’s been terrific. Honestly, he’s been terrific."
