During the off-season, former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Noah Juulsen signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. This was after the 6-foot-2 blueliner spent each of the previous four seasons as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Juulsen is now expected to provide the Flyers' blueline with more depth this upcoming campaign, whether he is a regular in their lineup or an extra defenseman.

Juulsen played in his first preseason game for the Flyers on Sep. 21 against the New York Islanders, and he stood out when it came to his physicality. During the contest, Juulsen threw a big open ice hit on New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson.

Aitcheson was shaken up following Juulsen's hit, but thankfully, it does not appear to be anything too serious. Islanders head coach and Habs legend Patrick Roy said the 2025 first-round pick will only be out day-to-day

Juulsen is well-known for being a gritty defenseman, as he has recorded 455 hits in 157 career NHL games. Furthermore, in 35 games this past season with the Canucks, Juulsen ended the year with 101 hits.

Juulsen was selected by the Canadiens with the 26th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In 44 games over two seasons with the Habs, he recorded two goals, eight points, and 118 hits.
