Former Montreal Canadiens forward Max Domi has gotten some tough injury news.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that Domi has undergone off-season surgery and will be out indefinitely due to complications arising from it. The Maple Leafs also shared that the former Canadiens forward will be re-evaluated once training camp begins.
Domi appeared in 80 games this season for the Maple Leafs, where he recorded 12 goals, 24 assists, 36 points, 95 penalty minuytes, and a minus-29 rating. This is after he had eight goals, 33 points, and 76 penalty minutes in 74 games for the Maple Leafs during the 2024-25 season.
Domi played two seasons for the Canadiens in 2018-19 and 2019-20. In 153 games with the Habs over that span, the 2013 first-round pick recorded 45 goals, 71 assists, 116 points, and a plus-17 rating. He also had the best season of his NHL career so far while playing for the Canadiens, as he set career highs with 28 goals, 44 assists, and 72 points during the 2018-19 season.
