The Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony is just a few weeks away, and the Class of 2024 will receive their rings on the weekend of Nov. 8-11.
This three-day celebration of hockey includes the annual Legends Classic game, with this year's teams led by Hall of Famers Jayna Hefford and Eric Lindros.
One of the game's headliners is someone making their Classic debut at 84, five-time Stanley Cup winner Terry Harper.
Harper played in the NHL from 1962 to 1981, winning hockey's Hockey Grail with the Canadiens in 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, and 1971. He spent ten seasons in Montreal and skated in Los Angeles, Detroit, St. Louis, and Colorado, scoring 256 points in 1,066 games.
He'll skate on Hefford's team, featuring Natalie Darwitz and Jeremy Roenick, who will enter the Hall of Fame this year. Their classmates Pavel Datsyuk and Shea Weber will suit up for Lindros' team.
Weber, a former Mark Messier Leadership Award winner, is the latest inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame with connections to the Montreal Canadiens. During his five seasons with the club, he served as captain for three years and helped the franchise reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.
However, Weber and Harper will not be the only former Canadiens player in the Legends Classic, as Pierre Turgeon (Class of 2023) will return for another skate. Other past Montreal players, including François Beauchemin, Gary Leeman, and Sergei Samsonov, will join them.
Full lineups for the Legends Classic are available on the Hockey Hall of Fame website.
Ticket packages are still available for the weekend activities in Toronto, which feature meet-and-greet opportunities, the Legends Classic game, and the induction ceremony itself.
