Former Montreal Canadiens forward André Pronovost has passed away at 90 years old. The Canadiens announced the sad news on Wednesday.
Pronovost played his first five NHL seasons with the Canadiens from 1956-57 to 1960-61, where he recorded 48 goals, 61 assists, and 109 points in 290 games. He also won the Stanley Cup four times during his time with the Canadiens.
Following his time with the Canadiens, Pronovost had stints with the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota North Stars before his final NHL season in 1967-68.
Pronovost's grandson, Anthony Mantha, is currently playing in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils.
