As reported earlier this Spring, the Living Sisu Hockey League will begin its activities for this Summer on July 7 for the women’s league and on July 8 for the men’s. Last night, the draft was held and broadcast on La Poche Bleue, and five Montreal Canadiens players will be taking part in the three-on-three Summer League, with four of them skating on the same team.

The first five weeks of competition are considered the regular season, with weeks six and seven being the playoffs. All four teams play in a double-header each Tuesday (for the mean). The first game starts at 5:15 PM and the second at 6:30 PM. All games will take place at Hockey Etcetera, 5920 Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, Ville Mont-Royal, QC, H4T 1C9. Tickets are already on sale and can be purchased here.

The lineups have now been confirmed and Team ManMade (the least surprising sponsor ever considering their adverts are everywhere these days) will feature: Simon Benoit, Benoit Olivier Groulx, Xavier Bourgault, Kris Letang, Thomas Bordeleau, Joe Veleno (who reportedly has a contract offer from the Canadiens), Sam Poulin and Franky Lapenne.

Team Renobrio will be made of Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Nick Brouillard, Mathieu Joseph, Jeff Viel, Caleb Desnoyers (the fourth overall pick at the last draft), Anthony Marrone, and newly signed Samuel Blais.

Team Be Healthy Love Berry will star Vincent Desharnais, Laurent Dauphin (who plays for the Laval Rocket), Maverick Lamoureux, Nic Aube-Kubel, Julien Gauthier, Raph Lavoie, Alex Dubeau, and Jonathan Aspirot.

Finally, last but not least, team Accent will be composed of Alexandre Carrier, Anthony Beauvillier, Nick Suzuki, Joshua Roy (who plays for the Rocket), Ivan Demidov, Nic Meloche, and Fio Fiorre.

Each ticket is $12.50, and all proceeds will go to Pancreatic Cancer Canada. If you are not local or cannot attend, fear not, the games will be streamed on the La Poche Bleue network this season. When the season draws near and players start coming back to Montreal in August, don’t be surprised if a few other Canadiens join in later.
