There are players who don't like all-star weekend games and skills competitions, but there's also those who embrace the event. Clearly Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov is in the latter category.
Taking part in the spectacular shootout competition, Demidov put on a show twirling his stick on the way to the goal as if he had a lot of marching band experience. With the puck stuck to his stick, he then attempted to throw the stick in the net and while it wasn't a successful manoeuvre, it still thrilled the crowd.
In the game pitting the Bobrov and Tarasov divisions, the right winger put up two goals in a 9-6 win including a spectacular penalty shot effort. With the current mood around the Montreal Canadiens, this is exactly what the doctor ordered for Habs fans.
This was just day one of the action in the KHL all-star weekend and Demidov is set to play again today when the Bobrov division takes on the Chernyshev one who triumphed 10-6 over team Karlamov on Saturday.
Chernyshev division is led by former Hab Alexander Galchenyuk and former NHLer Nail Yakupov. The former had five points in the 10-6 win with a goal and four assists while the latter had a goal and three assists.
