Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky made Habs history during their Wednesday night matchup against the Ottawa Senators.
At the 1:16 mark of the first period, Slafkovsky scored to give the Canadiens a 1-0 lead. With it, he now has 164 career points and has broken the Canadiens' record for most points by a player before turning 22.
With his 164th career point, he passed Canadiens legend Henri Richard for the record.
This is certainly an impressive accomplishment for Slafkovsky, and it shows how much of an impact the 2022 first-overall pick has been making for the Original Six club.
Slafkovsky has taken his game to a new level this season for the Canadiens. In 64 games for the Canadiens on the year, he has set new career highs with 24 goals and 53 points. He still has a good amount of time left to add to these totals, too, so there is no question that the 21-year-old winger is impressing in a big way this campaign.
Slafkovsky will not turn 22 until March 30, so he should build on his record with the Canadiens from here.
