It's no secret that hockey fans always love to check out new merch when it's released for their favorite team. But fans around the entire league pay attention when a new set of gear comes out featuring the most historic teams in the NHL.
The Canadian 'lifestyle brand' October's Very Own (OVO) has partnered with the NHL to release a limited-edition collection of apparel featuring the league's six original franchises.

Montreal Canadiens fans, along with those of the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leafs, have new options to add to their merchandise collections. The special gear includes vintage-style varsity jackets, as well as t-shirts and hoodies, and beanies (or toques).

For the Canadiens, the varsity jacket is bright red, with blue and white striping at the collar, cuffs, and bottom hem. Montreal's logo is prominently displayed on the front of the jacket, along with stitching to indicate the year the team was established. On the other side is a large version of the OVO logo.
The back of each jacket features a large graphic displaying the words 'Original Six' and a grouping of six stars.

The marketing campaign features some familiar faces from the NHL: Max Domi and his dad, Tie Domi, as well as Chris Chelios.

The new merchandise is available at multiple online locations, including NHLShop.com and NHLShop.ca, as well as the NHL Shop NYC store in Manhattan. When shopping online, search for "OVO" on one of the links above to find this particular line.
Fans, what do you think of the new gear? Will you be buying something from this series to add to your collection?
