    This article, from The Hockey News Archive, chronicled the sale of the Montreal Canadiens and the Montreal Forum in 1957.

    On October 5, 1957, The Hockey News reported on "one of the biggest (transactions) in the history of Canadian sport." 

    The Montreal Forum and the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club were sold by Senator Donat Raymond to Senator Hartland Molson and the Molson family.

    The parties announced that there would be "no change in the policies or the operations" of the arena or the hockey club. That included Frank J. Selke who would remain as Vice President and General Manager.
