Many former Canadiens have hit the waiver wire.
The NHL saw many players get placed on waivers on Sep. 25, and many are former members of the Montreal Canadiens.
Former Canadiens players like Joshua Roy, Jordan Harris, Sean Farrell, and Corey Schueneman are among those who hit waivers.
Also, Marc Del Gaizo and William Trudeau, who each played for the Laval Rocket last season, have been placed on waivers by the New York Rangers.
Roy hitting waivers is notable, as he was just traded by the Canadiens to the Utah Mammoth earlier this off-season. The 23-year-old forward was held off the scoresheet in three games last season for Montreal. He also had 23 goals and 45 points in 57 games with the Rocket last season.
Harris is another memorable former Canadien on waivers, as the Boston Bruins have made him available for the taking. The former Habs defenseman played in eight games for Boston last season, where he had a goal and three points.
Farrell was traded to the Anaheim Ducks by the Canadiens this summer. The 24-year-old forward played all of last season in Laval, where he posted 17 goals and 53 points in 72 games. He played in six games for Montreal during the 2022-23 season, where he scored a goal.
As for Schueneman, he was also placed on waivers by Anaheim. He split last season between the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds and Hershey Bears, where he posted six goals and 31 points in 71 games. In 31 games over two seasons with the Canadiens from 2021-22 to 2022-23, he posted two goals and seven points.
