Losses happen and Canadiens fans were probably watching their future goalie, Jacob Fowler, and possibly the first overall pick, James Hagens lose to Northeastern. So what? BC fans care, I get it. Should Canadiens fans care?

Fowler has had a great season. When James Hagens scored against Northeastern, they were down 2-1. They lost 3-1. It’s a massive upset because BC was the top-ranked team, and Northeastern was ranked ninth. That’s sports. There will be bigger upsets down the road. The Hockey East playoffs aren’t the end of the world. It’s a single-elimination tournament that is distinctive to college hockey, so this was bound to happen to some team at some point.

Fowler will still play in the Frozen Four. That’s what counts here. In that loss, he gave up two goals on 19 shots. It happens. Goalies go through emotional highs and lows all the time and he will still get a shot at redemption here as will the rest of his team. Hockey is a team sport.

We have to wait until later in the week for the brackets to be revealed. Until then, let’s talk about Hagens, if he goes second or third, the Canadiens may have a shot at getting him. It’s a long shot, but it's nonetheless a shot. They probably need to be the 12th-worst team, so it will depend on how many wins they get. Then, you would only have a shot on him if he drops to the second or third spot. Again, it’s probably not going to happen but the NHL Draft can be unpredictable at times too.
