After mutually terminating his contract with the St. Louis Blues last season, Alexandre Texier signed with the Montreal Canadiens as a free agent. This decision certainly benefited both him and the Habs, as he proved to be a great fit on their roster last season. 

Texier appeared in 43 regular-season games last season with the Canadiens, where he posted eight goals, 12 assists, and 20 points. He also played in 19 playoff games for Montreal, recording four goals and eight points.

Overall, Texier became a very solid part of the Canadiens' roster last season. But could he hit a new level for them in 2026-27? The possibility should not be ruled out. 

Texier showed a lot of promise this season after joining the Canadiens, and it is fair to wonder if we could see his offensive production go up more in 2026-27. This is especially so if he ends up getting consistent playing time and chances with the Original Six club. 

If Texier can produce offense more consistently and continue to play a strong all-around game, it would be huge for a Canadiens club that is looking to continue to head in the right direction. It will be interesting to see if Texier can take his game to a new level next season from here.
