Chris Kreider is having a solid start to his Canadiens tenure.
Ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Montreal Canadiens signed forward Chris Kreider to a one-year contract. This was after he mutually terminated his contract with the Anaheim Ducks and became a free agent.
Now, during the early stages of this season, the Canadiens' decision to sign Kreider is looking like a smart one.
In three games for the Canadiens so far this season, Kreider has posted one goal and three assists. He is also coming off back-to-back two-point games, so he is certainly leaving a solid first impression with the Canadiens.
With the Canadiens having high expectations this season, it is good that Kreider is having a strong start to the campaign. If he continues to produce offense like this, the Canadiens should benefit from him being on the team tremendously.
In 75 games last season for the Ducks, Kreider posted 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points. It will now be interesting to see if he can put up similar numbers for the Canadiens this campaign. With the way he has started the 2026-27 season, the possibility should not be ruled out.
