Two Montreal Canadiens prospects won the Frozen Four on Saturday night with the Denver Pioneers.

While Michael Hage and the Michigan Wolverines failed in their quest for a national championship, falling to the Denver Pioneers, they can at least say that they lost to the champions. Denver beat the Wisconsin Badgers 2-1 in the final on Saturday night, winning a third national title in the last five years.

Two Montreal Canadiens prospects are therefore champions: Sam Harris, for a second time, a left wing the Habs picked in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, and Quentin Miller, a goaltender selected in the fourth round of the same draft.

Harris was kept off the scoresheet in the final, but he did have a solid season, putting up 35 points in 42 games in his junior season. Montreal has until August 15, 2027, to sign him to an ELC if they decide to do so.

As for Miller, he didn’t see any action, acting as Johnny Hicks’ backup, but he did put up some good numbers this season with a 12-10-2 record, a 2.39 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. The date by which the Canadiens must sign him to retain his rights is unknown at this time, as the rules governing the sign-by dates for players who moved from Major Junior and NCAA are still to be determined, according to Puckpedia.
