After Saturday night's loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens made additional cuts to their training camp roster.

At the start of the day on Saturday, the Canadiens still had 68 players on their training camp roster. That number reduced by four around 2:00 pm, after the day's waiver moves were announced.

Then, a few hours before puck drop, the team announced an additional 26 names slashed from the list. But even more cuts came after the final horn sounded in Montreal's 3-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Perhaps the most notable name on the list was defenseman David Reinbacher. The fifth-overall draft pick played in Saturday's game, on a pairing with Kaiden Guhle. Reinbacher was loaned back to his HC Kloten team in Switzerland, where he will spend the season getting loads of ice time and working on all areas of his game.

The other four players included in the last cuts of the day were goaltender Jakub Dobes, defenseman William Trudeau, and forwards Sean Farrell and Riley Kidney. All four will report to the Laval Rocket (AHL) for training camp.

Montreal now has just 33 players left in training camp, and they'll have two final exhibition games this week to trim an additional 10 names off that list.
