Interestingly, the percentage of Canadians (61.5%) is the lowest since the 2020-21 season, when the number dipped to 59.4% despite having 19 players from the country in the lineup.
As a team with a deep history of outstanding Canadian-born skaters, some of the best to ever play in the NHL, the franchise maintains a status quo regarding Canadian talent in the lineup.
After years of seeing a combination of nationalities eat up half of the pie chart, with Canadian-born skaters dropping to a salary cap era low of 42.9% in 2011-12, the organization has stayed above 50% since the 2013-14 season.
