Starting his first game for the Laval Rocket on Friday night, Alex Barré-Boulet tallied two goals against his former team, the Syracuse Crunch.

The Laval Rocket (2-1-0) began their weekend series with the Syracuse Crunch with a 5-2 victory powered by two goals from Alex Barré-Boulet and Joshua Roy.

It was a bittersweet moment for Barré-Boulet, who played six seasons for the Crunch as a prospect for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He tallied 113 goals and 302 points in 294 games with the club and needed only 1:05 into his first game against them to light the lamp.

Barré-Boulet began the season with the Montreal Canadiens, appearing in two games, Oct. 9 and 10, before clearing waivers and earning an assignment with the Rocket.

However, he wasn't the only forward on a scoring tear on Friday night. One of the Canadiens' top prospects, Roy, tallied two goals to raise his point total to three in three games.

Although the 21-year-old didn't make the NHL lineup out of camp, he's in line for one of the first call-ups during the season.

In the meantime, Roy has a chance to improve upon his AHL totals from 2023-24, which included 13 goals and 32 points in 41 contests.

The Rocket play the Crunch again on Saturday and look to gain ground on the Toronto Marlies, who remain undefeated and still hold the top spot in the North Division.
