It's been almost a week since this year's crop of rookies arrived in Brossard, QC. to kick off the 2023 Montreal Canadiens rookie camp. A whirlwind weekend trip to Buffalo, NY. gave the prospects an opportunity to bond, play in three competitive games, and showcase their skills for the Habs' top brass.
Opening the Prospects Challenge against their host, the Buffalo Sabres, on Friday night, the Canadiens' youngsters faced a tough task. They ultimately came up short against a strong Sabres team, but positives could be taken from individual performances that night. The team went on to defeat the rookies from the Boston Bruins, and came up victorious in their Monday afternoon matinee against the Ottawa Senators.
Once the tournament concluded, the team hopped on their bus to return to Quebec, and met in Brossard Tuesday morning to bring the camp to a close. Director of Player Development Rob Ramage and Player Development Coach Francis Bouillon then met with the media to give their thoughts on what they observed from the group through the course of the camp.
