    Game Report

After getting a much-needed win in Hartford on Friday night, the Rocket were back at it Saturday evening with a rare visit to Wilkes-Barre, PA to take on the Penguins. Kasimir Kaskisuo got the start in net for Laval, and Chris Jandric made his Rocket debut on the blueline due to Mattias Norlinder's injury sustained the previous night.

Laval continued their scoring momentum early in the game when Jan Mysak got his team on the board first. The game was tightly-played, with neither team able to register double-digit shots on goal in the opening 20 minutes of play.

What was a relatively quiet first period turned into a somewhat chaotic second period. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton put three unanswered goals on the board in the first two minutes of the frame. Suddenly, the Rocket found themselves trailing by two goals and the ice tilted firmly in their opponent's direction.

After a brief time-out, Mysak scored his second of the night, pulling Laval back to within a goal of the Penguins. Logan Mailloux got into a bit of a dustup that didn't lead to an actual fight but did give the teams some four-on-four play.

Just when the visitors thought that maybe they could crawl back into this game, and maybe get their first-ever victory at Mohegan Sun Arena, the Penguins scored a power play goal early in the third period.

Xavier Simoneau responded in kind in the last five minutes of the game, but Wilkes-Barre added two empty-net goals to their score to put a comeback well out of reach for Laval.
