

The Trois-Rivieres Lions where on a weekend road trip over the weekend with a stop in Maine to face the Mariners (Boston Bruins) on Friday and the Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey Devils) on Sunday.
The Canadiens ECHL affiliate entered the weekend at the top of the overall standings.
The Mariners opened the scoring in the first period before the Lions bounced back with the three next goals.
Trois-Rivieres won the contest 4-3 despite being outplayed by Maine. The Mariners outshot their opponents 46-16 and were not able to capitalize on their six power plays.
Joe Vrbetic had another good performance making 43 saves and Ty Smilanic netted his first career goal that ended up being the game-winning goal.
After a scoreless first period, Anthony Beauregard extended his point streak to five games with his seventh goal of the season. The teams exchanged goals until it was 2-2 in the third period, when Jakov Novak broke the tie with his second game-winning goal in the last three contests.
On Monday, the Laval Rocket assigned goalie Zachary Emond to Trois-Rivieres. Emond did not dress for a match with Laval as he has been recovering from a recent hip surgery. The 23-year-old was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the sixth round (176th overall) in 2018. Emond made 27 saves on Sunday and was named third star of the game.
On Tuesday, forward Matthew Boucher signed a professional tryout with the Belleville Senators in the AHL. Boucher led the team in scoring at the time of the deal with 12 points in eight games. Last season, the California native played seven games for the ECHL's Iowa Heartlanders before being recalled by the Senators for the balance of the season.
On Wednesday, Ron Choules concluded his first trade as the team's general manager by acquiring Jake Bricknell from the Cincinnati Cyclones for future considerations. Bricknell had two points in three games with Cincinnati. Last season, he recorded 17 point in 44 games with the Manchester Storm in the British Elite Ice Hockey League.
With the weekend victories, the Lions remain first place in the North Division with 18 points.
Trois-Rivieres returns home this week and prepares to host the Maine Mariners on Friday night and Saturday afternoon at Colisee Videotron.
