Teams can reserve the rights of up to eight players from their season ending roster by submitting a qualifying offer prior to end of day July 7. A maximum of four of the eight offers can be tendered to veteran players. A veteran is considered as a player that has played in over 260 regular season professional hockey games played as of the start of the 2023-24 Season.
The players receiving a qualifying offer will have until end of day July 22 to accept. Any players, such as Beauregard, that sign a contract prior to July 7, do not require a qualifying offer and are not counted towards the maximum of eight.
