The Montreal Canadiens ECHL affiliate finished the toughest stretch of their schedule with a losing record.

The Trois-Rivieres Lions continued their seven-game road trip with four matches in five days with travel in between each contest. 

Wednesday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 2 - South Carolina Stingrays 6

The Lions were dominated their opponents from the opening puck drop until the final buzzer. South Carolina had a 5-0 lead through 40 minutes when Jakov Novak put Trois-Rivieres on the board early in the third period. The teams exchanged a goal later in the period as the Stingrays went on to 6-2 victory. Zachary Emond made 24 saves in his first loss of the season. 

Thursday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 0 - Savannah Ghost Riders 5

Savannah took control two minutes into the game scoring two times on their first three shots on Joe Vrbetic. The Ghost Riders added two more goals before the first intermission and another in the third period to blank Trois-Rivieres 5-0.

Saturday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 4 - Jacksonville Icemen 3

Trois-Rivieres lit the lamp three times in the first period to take a commanding 3-0 lead through 20 minutes. Jacksonville answered with three consecutive goals in 3:39 during the second period to tie the match 3-3. The tie lasted 13 seconds as captain Cedric Montminy regave the Lions the lead with his second of the contest. No goals were scored for the balance of the contest as Trois-Rivieres snapped a three-game losing streak. Vrbetic made 23 saves to earn his first win in five starts. 

Sunday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 2 - South Carolina Stingrays 3

South Carolina had 3-0 lead through 40 minutes with two power play goals before Trois-Rivieres got on the board. Montminy scored a power play goal early in the third period and Justin Ducharme tallied his eighth of the year to make it a one-goal game.

The Lions offence was not able to get the tying goal despite outshooting their opponents 15-4 in the final 20 minutes.  

Roster News

On Tuesday, the Laval Rocket returned Noel Yaremko, Alex-Olivier Voyer and John Parker-Jones to the ECHL. Yaremko and Voyer were with the Rocket for a week following injuries to Mitchell Stephens and Philippe Maillet. Parker-Jones spent five weeks in Laval but only dressed in two games and missed time due to a lower body injury.

Yaremko played two games with Trois-Rivieres before being called up by the Rocket on Friday to replace Stephens following his call up to the Canadiens.

The Lions concluded their most difficult part of their schedule with a 2-6 record on their eight-game road trip in 12 days. They remain on top of the North Division with a 2-point lead on the Norfolk Admirals. 

Trois-Rivieres is back at the Colisee Videotron for one game on Wednesday against the Maine Mariners (Boston Bruins) and then hit the road for two games against the Reading Royals (Philadelphia Flyers) on Friday and Saturday.
