With a weekend sweep of the Utica Comets, the Laval Rocket are poised to earn their first five-game winning streak this week when they return to Place Bell.
Going into last week's two-game road trip to Utica, NY, the Laval Rocket were riding a two-game win streak. This week, they return home to Quebec with four consecutive wins in their proverbial pockets, looking to add more points to the win column.
Despite losing forwards Gabriel Bourque and Sean Farrell to injuries early in Sunday's game, and even without the services of Emil Heineman due to his NHL recall, the Rocket still topped the Comets, one of their North Division rivals, with back-to-back 4-3 shootout victories.
Laval Rocket goaltender Jakub DobesProspects again played a key role in these wins, with Arber Xhekaj, Logan Mailloux, and Jared Davidson all pitching in. Jakub Dobes and Kasimir Kaskisuo split duties between the pipes, and both goaltender put on solid performances.
The Laval Rocket, now sitting just one point behind the fifth-place Toronto Marlies in the division, look to continue their dominance over the Comets this week with a home matchup against Utica on Wednesday night. They'll follow that up with a visit from the Manitoba Moose for games on Friday night and Saturday afternoon to round out what could be an exciting week at Place Bell.
