The rookie goaltender has not only taken over almost all of the Rocket's goaltending duties, but is close to setting a new record in the AHL.

With just four games left on the schedule, the fans of the Laval Rocket are likely hoping the Montreal Canadiens affiliate smooths out what's been a bumpy ride for the past couple of weeks. Highs and lows of wins and losses seem to be felt more deeply in the final weeks of a season where four North Division teams are battling it out for the bottom two playoff positions.

But one things has been steady throughout the tumultuous journey the Rocket have been on for the past month or two: rookie goaltender Jakub Dobes. After a forgettable start to the season for the Rocket, Dobes has since become a dependable piece of the team, currently boasting stats of 23-16-6 in 48 games played. One of those wins was a shutout.

Kasimir Kaskisuo can be credited for stabilizing the crease when he was brought in on a PTO mid-season to replace a struggling Strauss Mann. But in recent weeks, Kaskisuo seems to have been relegated to a pure backup position, as Dobes is tapped time and time again as the team's starter.
