Marty Biron, former NHL goaltender and now an analyst for TSN, RDS and MSG, joins the latest episode of the Canadiens Connection podcast to discuss the state of Montreal Canadiens goaltending and to outline a path for success.
On this week's episode of Canadiens Connection podcast, we tackled a major part of the Montreal rebuild: goaltending. Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes have promised to improve and modernize each part of the organization including between the pipes. Goaltending was once an area of strength for the Canadiens but that is no longer the case.
Marty Biron, former NHL goaltender and now an analyst for TSN, RDS and MSG, joined Amy Johnson and Rick Stephens to discuss the state of Canadiens goaltending and to outline a path for returning this key piece of the team to its former glory.
As we built a possible blueprint for Canadiens goaltending, we talked with Biron about successful goaltending operations, coaching, as well as desirable characteristics. Biron then turned his attention to the current goaltenders under NHL contract: Jake Allen, Sam Montembeault and Cayden Primeau to provide an evaluation.
In addition, the show examined the news of the week involving Kaiden Guhle, David Reinbacher and Michael Pezzetta. And we heard from Canadiens goaltending prospect Jacob Fowler and his family about his experience at the recent 2023 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville.
