It's been no secret, even during the years he spent playing in the OHL, that defenseman Logan Mailloux has the ability to contribute plenty of points during the course of a season. And since he debuted in professional hockey with the Laval Rocket, he hasn't disappointed in that department.
The other aspect of his game and development that's pretty well-known is that most of the work he needs to do to improvement lies in his play in the defensive zone. The good news is that we've already begun to see him make positive strides in that department this season, particularly after having mentors like Arber Xhekaj and Justin Barron as his defensive partners.

But going back to his prowess for points, Mailloux has slowly and steadily been inching his way up the standings. He currently has 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points in his 48 games played this season.
That amount of points has him tied for second place in the standings on the Rocket roster, but Mailloux's numbers also have him at the top of some key categories league-wide.
The 20-year-old currently sits at the top of two rankings in the AHL, and occupies third place in an even more important category!
On my latest episode of Rocket Hockey Report, I spell out all the details about how Mailloux is making the most of his rookie season, plus I recap all of the Rocket's games from last week, give details on Kasimir Kaskisuo's new AHL contract, and reveal two other Habs prospects who continue to stand out in a crowd.
