On this week's episode of Canadiens Connection podcast, we focused on a key part of the rebuild of the Montreal Canadiens: developing prospects. Much of that development will be done in Laval this season as the Rocket are slated to receive an influx of young talent this Fall like they haven't seen before.
With the arrival of top-end prospects, a shift in focus for the AHL team and their coaching staff will be required. It should be a move away from lineups that formerly were veteran-heavy. Future Canadiens must be given opportunities to learn and grow.
In addition, the show examined the four-year contract for newly arrived Alex Newhook and heard reactions from the 22-year-old about joining the Canadiens and his goals for the upcoming Canadiens season.
