The first round of the 2024 NHL Draft was held at Sphere in Las Vegas on Friday night with more than 14,200 on hand to witness the spectacular show. As a lottery pick team, it was critical for the Montreal Canadiens to add high-end offensive talent and to impress Habs fans, who had been underwhelmed on draft day in 2023 and 2022.
Prospect rankings and mock drafts had been all over the map over the past few weeks. It was unclear what most teams would do, particularly the Canadiens. But with a little deception, some good intel and a healthy dose of good fortune, the first part of the Draft played out to plan for the Canadiens.
Habs fans seem universally thrilled with the picks and impatient for this next year to pass. We review scouting reports for all ten Montreal picks on a new episode of the Canadiens Connection podcast.
In addition, we bring you everything that happened during draft week and hear from the Canadiens new crop of prospects. We conclude the show with comments, texts, and emails from you, our loyal Canadiens Connection listeners.
