The Laval Rocket announced the signing of free agent goaltender Zachary Emond to a one-year, two-way AHL contract.

On Tuesday, the Laval Rocket added a second new goaltender to the organization when they announced the signing of free agent Zachary Emond. The two-way AHL contract will likely put Emond in the organization's ECHL lineup for the Trois-Rivieres Lions. The 23-year-old was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 2018 in the sixth round (176th overall).
Emond played just four games last season with the ECHL's Wichita Thunder. In that time, he posted a 2.22 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage. He also spent time with Utica Comets in the AHL, but did not appear in any games.
Prior to that, the 6-foot-3, 181-pound goaltender spent the 2021-22 season splitting time between the San Jose Barracuda (4.48 GAA, .867 SV%) and the Orlando Solar Bears (3.67 GAA, .879 SV%), for a career total of 12 games in the AHL and 17 games in the ECHL.
This signing comes on the heels of Monday's announcement of four one-way AHL contracts signed by the Laval Rocket, where the team added two forwards, one defenseman, and one goaltender.
