Teddy Mutryn is one to watch in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Michael Hage played with the Chicago Steel last season. Technically, he was a teammate of Teddy Mutryn, who played two games for Chicago last season and is draft-eligible this year. Since Mutryn plays on the wing, the two players could have some future continuity.

Mutryn was a star at St. Sebastian’s Prep School in Massachusetts. He started in 2021-22 and ended in 2023-24. That last year included a two-game stint with the Steel. He scored a goal in two games and a goal in four games with the U17 team. He left that tournament with a silver medal with Team USA.

Last night in the 2025 All-American Game, he looked good playing fourth-line right wing. He’s 6’1” 207 pounds and he has a good shot. He’s currently the third in scoring for Chicago.

I saw him earlier this season and this viewing was excellent. He got a nice goal on a sweet give-n-go. He did it easily. It was second nature. Those plays work at every level.

Mutryn will use his body too. As an NHLer, he’s a bottom-six guy in my eyes but that’s ok. This prospect seems like a player who will go mid-second round or possibly early in the third round.

He’s committed to Boston College. He might get to play with James Hagens if he takes one more season there. If Hagens goes first overall in the 2025 NHL Draft then it’s unlikely. I think Mutryn is a Canadiens kind of player. St. Louis would love him if they cross paths in the future.
