After spending an entire week focusing on practice, with no games on the schedule, the team traveled to Winnipeg over the weekend for a back-to-back set against the Manitoba Moose. Both goaltenders performed admirably over the two games, and prospects like Sean Farrell and Joshua Roy found themselves on the score sheet multiple times. A three-game suspension for Jayden Struble was one of the biggest disappointments of the weekend, but otherwise there were plenty of highlights to celebrate. Plus, in other American Hockey League news, the Edmonton Oilers shook things up when they fired Jay Woodcroft Sunday morning and immediately replaced him with Kris Knoblauch, who had been serving as head coach for the Hartford Wolf Pack.
