An in-depth look at Laval's two games in Manitoba, plus a conversation with guest Patrick Williams to discuss new Edmonton head coach Kris Knoblauch's AHL experience.

Excerpt from 'Rocket Hockey Report' of host Amy Johnson commenting on the performance of the Laval Rocket in their two games against the Manitoba Moose.

It's a good news week on the Laval Rocket beat! After spending an entire week focusing on practice, with no games on the schedule, the team traveled to Winnipeg over the weekend for a back-to-back set against the Manitoba Moose.

Prior to those games, it had been a rough ride for the Rocket in the early parts of the season, and putting up not one but TWO wins, on the road, were a welcomed change of pace.

Both goaltenders performed admirably over the two games, and prospects like Sean Farrell and Joshua Roy found themselves on the score sheet multiple times. A three-game suspension for Jayden Struble was one of the biggest disappointments of the weekend, but otherwise there were plenty of highlights to celebrate.

Plus, in other American Hockey League news, the Edmonton Oilers shook things up when they fired Jay Woodcroft Sunday morning and immediately replaced him with Kris Knoblauch, who had been serving as head coach for the Hartford Wolf Pack. Patrick Williams, writer for the NHL and AHL, spoke with me at length about what type of coach Knoblauch has become, and what his experience at the AHL level could bring to a desperate Oilers team.
