As the Nashville Predators and Luke Evangelista continue to work on a new contract, the forward was not present for the first day of training camp Thursday.

During his media availability Thursday morning, general manager Barry Trotz indicated the plan to get a deal done is still in place, and that trading Evangelista is not even a thought.
