Frozen Frenzy Start Time No Issue for Predators

It is a big night for the NHL as all thirty-two teams play games tonight. The event kicks off with a triple header on ESPN beginning with the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Washington Capitals. As a part of the "Frozen Frenzy", the Nashville Predators' start time for tonight's game is scheduled for 8:15 pm CT.

Head coach Andrew Brunette addressed the later puck drop after morning skate.

"You just adjust and go," he said. "It's a little strange, but once you're at the rink you don't know what time it is half the time."

Brunette's former OHL teammate Kevin Weekes will co-host a Whip Around Studio Show beginning at 6:00 pm CT to cover all the major action across the leagues and bringing highlights, goals, and the big plays of the night. Weekes will be joined by co-host John Buccigross for the Studio Show on ESPN2 and ESPN+.

Brunette likes the idea of the league playing all 32 teams in one massive hockey night.

"I think it's worth trying. I'd like to see it," Brunette said. "I'll probably check in between 7:00 to 8:00 maybe to see how it plays out. It'll be interesting to see."

The later start time means a few tweaks for the players, mostly revolving around calorie intake.

"I think it's just changing your food habits," defenseman Alexandre Carrier said after morning skate. "It's going to finish a bit later tonight as well so a few more snacks."

Luke Evangelista's specific game day routine will be slightly altered as well.

"I feel like I'll probably eat my pregame meals a little bit later than I usually do, I already eat it pretty early, so maybe push the pregame meal back an hour, an hour and a half," Evangelista said.

The upside for both Carrier and Evangelista is a little more rest before puck drop.

"I'll probably get an extra hour on my nap," Evangelista said "So no complaints. I don't mind that. I'm a pretty good sleeper so I don't mind that at all."

The Predators will take on the Vancouver Canucks tonight Bridgestone Arena.
