The Nashville Predators are back in action tonight, as they host the New York Islanders for the first of two meetings this season. The Predators are coming off of a massive win over the Colorado Avalanche while the Islanders have lost two in a row. Both teams have 11 points through their first 11 games, but the Islanders have five wins compared to Nashville's four.

Throughout their careers, Filip Forsberg (20 points in 22 games), Roman Josi (19 points in 22 games), and Steven Stamkos (51 points in 50 games) have all been dominant in their performances against the Islanders. Ryan O'Reilly, who used to play for the Islanders' cross-state rivals the Buffalo Sabres, tends to score at a lower rate against the team from Long Island, as he has just 12 points in 30 career games against them.

Semyon Varlamov, who is expected to start for the Islanders on Tuesday night, has struggled against the Predators in his career with an .898 save percentage and 13-14-2 record in his 29 starts.

Juuse Saros is expected to be between the pipes for Nashville, and he'll look to continue a solid start to the season against a team that often struggles to score against him. He has a 11-9-2 record against the Isles and has a .909 save percentage, which sets just above his current tally for the 2026-27 season of .908.
