Roman Josi had two goals and an assist and Gus Nyquist had a three point night to give the Nashville Predators a 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

The Nashville Predators continued their winning ways thanks to a two goal night from Roman Josi, scores from Gustav Nyquist and Michael McCarron, and a dominate performance from the entire lineup in the third period to close out a 4-1 game.

Drake Batherson scored a power play goal late in the first period, but the Senators couldn't get anything else past Juuse Saros in the second period. Nashville held Ottawa to zero shots on goal in the final period.

Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette stuck with the same lineup Tuesday night that brought the Predators success on their five game road trip.

    Forsberg - O'Reilly - Nyquist

    Trenin - Sissons - Glass

    Jankowski - Novak - Evangelista

    Smith - McCarron - Sherwood

    Josi - Fabbro

    McDonagh - Schenn

    Lauzon - Carrier

    Saros

The Predators got off to a quick start pressuring Joonas Korpisalo with two quick shots the first shift. At 3:23 Michael McCarron got Nashville on the board with a goal from the circle. Less than a minute later Jakob Chychrun headed to the penalty box for a trip. Roman Josi scored on the ensuing power play with a shot from the point through traffic to give the Predators a quick two goal lead.

Ottawa finally got their first shot on goal six minutes into the game, and then they slowly began to take over the momentum of the first period. Colton Sissons was whistled for a penalty at 9:50, but Juuse Saros made an impressive point blank back door save on Tim Stutzle to keep the Senators off the board.

The Senators continued to take over the first period, and at 18:58 Drake Batherson scored a power play goal to get Ottawa on the board. The Predators were outshot 14-1 in the second half of the period but took a one goal lead into intermission.

The second period the team exchanged chances, but neither  could capitalize on any offensive opportunities. The Predators had another power play chance at 8:24 as Mark Kastelic tripped Luke Schenn, but Nashville couldn't convert on the man advantage. As the middle period wound down Roman Josi scored on quick transition play to give the Predators a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

Nashville got the jump on chances early in the third period outshooting the Senators 8-0 in the first seven minutes of play. At 7:08 Claude Giroux served a high sticking penalty, and the Predators got their third power play chance. Nashville's power play attacked for the two minutes but couldn't convert and the teams returned to five a side.

Nashville limited time and space and continued to pressure Korpisalo. At 13:12 Gustav Nyquist cleaned up a loose puck in front of the net to make it a 4-1 score. The Predators finished the game outshooting the Senators 19-0 in the final period and earned their sixth win in a row.
